Picture four softballers thrown into Wanderley Wagon after a day of softball in 30º heat. Add in 8 cleats, four mitts and various undergarments. Then challenge them to produce a three course meal Ready Steady Cook Style with a box of cornflakes, a cucumber and an unidentified piece of meat, how nobody got food poisoning is beyond me! But with the help of the impressive pool complex, the numerous pots of Tea from the Dodder mobile and the heated games of PIT, we all survived the week to do what we were there to do.
The softball was as it should be played - flat fields, sunshine, bleachers and beer! Our expectations were high and we played some good softball against some competitive teams. Although our finish was disappointing experience was gained and lessons were learned. It's a fantastic opportunity to play in an international competition and one every player should be proud of, and I can't wait to get back there next week to compete with the Pak !
