BatPak Retain Brian Walshe Cup

Cup Finals Day should be a celebration of the Irish Softball season, a fitting tribute to those who have played throughout the year, giving twelve teams one more chance to win silverware and enjoy one last day of softball.  It also gives those who enjoy the sport an opportunity to come and watch some exciting cup games.

This year however, in the Cup at least, by the time BatPak had arrived at ALSAA to prepare for their semi-final against Castleknock Bearcats, knowing that already one team had dropped out of the day at very short notice, they then discovered that a second team were not able to get a team together, therefore the BatPak versus Bearcats game was straightaway the final.

'Pak had a point to prove to themselves following their poor hitting performance in the final League game the previous Tuesday, and  ended up winning the game via the mercy rule in the bottom of the sixth inning, the final score being 21-5.  The match report will be available shortly.
