Weary legs, weary arms and weary heads, BatPak battled through games on Saturday and Sunday to retain the Brian Walshe Cup trophy for the third year in a row, and fourth time in five years!!
Team Ireland returned home on Sunday from the EcHCS tournament in Dupnitsa, Bulgaria with a second successive Bronze medal around their necks. And one of our own, Emma Kilbride, was awarded Female MVP for her outstanding contribution to the Irish performance throughout the week.

The Irish National Squad for the upcoming 2011 VIII. EChCS has been announced this week, and BatPak are proud to announce that it will have four representatives on the plane to Bulgaria at the end of July.
Softball Ireland have announced the schedule for the Second Round of the Brian Walshe Cup, with BatPak's reward for defeating Marlay Mayhem in the First Round with a home tie against another Marlay team, the Mavericks.
Twenty-one players from BatPak and Dublin Bay Packers made it out to ALSAA to take part in the traditional season kick-off tournament, the SoS Blitz [Start of Season], and reached the semi-finals.
Softball Ireland have changed the format to the Brian Walshe Cup. It will now be open to the top 16 seeded teams in Ireland and all teams will be guaranteed to play a minimum of two games.
BatPak's AGM took place this week at number 4, with the 2010 season reflected on as a successful one both on and off the field; the club representing Ireland and the Leinster League at the ECCS tournament in Slovenia and retaining the Brian Walshe Cup, the closer ties with the Dublin Bay Packers, the newly launched website and a tremendous fundraising effort.
Congratulations to the five members of BatPak's squad who made the expanded roster of players who will go on to competet to make the final cut and represent Ireland in this year's European Championships.
